Employment Equity
Employment equity plans help Saskatchewan employers and employees experience the benefits of fair, full employment and a diverse workforce.
Equity in employment means:
- a representative workforce that mirrors the make-up of Saskatchewan's working age population at all levels and in all occupations; and
- supportive, welcoming work environments that promote the full participation of all groups.
The SHRC uses Statistics Canada data on the make-up of Saskatchewan's working age population to get a picture of what a representative workforce would look like. Qualitative indicators of success include subjective factors such as job satisfaction and positive working relationships.
