CASHRA 2008 National Forum to focus on inclusion of students with disabilities The Canadian Association of Statutory Human Rights Agencies (CASHRA) is partnering with numerous community- based organizations for the "Defining a Rights Based Framework National Forum" from September 25 to 27, 2008, in Toronto. The forum will address the inclusion and education of students with disabilities in the context of human rights law. Policy discussions are expected to focus on what policies and practices facilitate inclusion, how human rights frameworks assist in advancing inclusive education, how human rights agencies can assist in the creation of inclusive education environments, and how interested individuals and groups can cooperate together in advancing the inclusion of students with disabilities. Confirmed keynote speakers include SHRC Chief Commissioner McPhedran, Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission, Catherine Frazee, Co-director of Ryerson RBC Institute for Disability Studies, Research, and Education at Ryerson University, and Dr. Calvin Fraser, General Secretary for the Canadian Teachers Federation.
